Career

Learn more about how I got started as a real estate agent in Winnipeg!

Cliff began his real estate career with Royal LePage Real Estate Services in 1985 after a long and successful career with Canadian Tire in Winnipeg, Vancouver, and Steinbach. He was a top salesperson with Royal LePage and in 1988 was given the opportunity to become the Branch Sales Manager. During this time he led the branch to be the top Royal LePage branch in the Manitoba/Saskatchewan district.

In 1997, he saw the opportunity to become more involved with his own clients and he joined Century 21 where he soon received the Centurion Award, the highest honour that one can achieve as a salesperson with that company.

Then in 2003, Cliff joined RE/MAX as both a sales associate and a manager. Within a year, he became the owner of the RE/MAX office on Henderson Highway and quickly opened two more RE/MAX offices on Roblin Boulevard and Academy Road.

In 2007, Cliff’s son Scott joined him in the real estate business as a full sales associate with RE/MAX.

Scott benefitted extremely as he was learning from one of the best most experienced Realtors in the business, his father. He soon became an award winner with RE/MAX joining the exclusive 100% Club which was then followed by many Bronze and Silver Medallion Awards from the Winnipeg Realtors Association.

Today, Cliff and Scott are a formidable real estate partnership that offers the best in real estate service and results. Over 90% of their business is a result of repeat business or referrals from past clients. They are known for their easy-going demeanor and expert advice and knowledge. With well over 40 years of real estate practice behind them, their clients know that they are working with someone that they can trust and rely on.

Other Real Estate Activities

Cliff has served as the President of the Manitoba Real Estate Association as well as the President of the Winnipeg Realtors Association. Currently, he sits on the Real Estate Advisory Committee, the REIA Claims Committee, the MREA Education Committee as well as the Professional Standards Committee for the WRA.

He also is an instructor at the Manitoba Real Estate Association and teaches the Module 4 classes to students taking their real estate licensing courses. He recently became chair of the Winnipeg Realtors Walk of Fame Committee which each year, selects a nominated candidate to join other noted Winnipegers in having their bust on display at the Walk of Fame located in Winnipeg’s Assiniboine Park.

Community

Cliff has been active over the years beyond his professional life with many types of community involvement.

  • President of the Linden Woods-Victoria Community Club
  • Community Club Soccer Convenor for 6 years
  • Soccer Coach for 10 years
  • Committee member for the Assiniboine South School Division – Facilities Review

Each year the King family offers a $1000 post-secondary scholarship to a deserving graduate of Vincent Massey Collegiate at the school’s year end convocation. The scholarship is awarded in honour and memory of Cliff and Betty Ann’s daughter Kelsey, a graduate of Vincent Massey who succumbed to cancer (osteogenic sarcoma) in her 18th year.

Cliff is an avid curler, golfer, gardener, and reader. He enjoys traveling with his wife, Betty-Ann.

Scott plays hockey in a number of leagues as well as golf, running, spin classes, and enjoying time with his dog Finn.
